The Pahaadhi sits on a quiet hillside at Sokni da Kot, off Khanyara Road below the Dhauladhar range. The house is two storeys, with a big lawn and flower garden in front, and from most rooms you look over the trees to the mountains.
Each room has a king-size bed, a sofa set with a table, a study desk and an attached bathroom with a geyser and shower. Rooms are air-conditioned, and Wi-Fi and parking are free.
The cafe on site makes Himachali and continental food, cooked fresh with local ingredients. In the evening we can light a bonfire on the lawn if you ask.
It works well as a base for treks above Dharamshala. Kharota, where the Thatharana trek starts, is about 15 minutes by car, and Gyuto Monastery is about the same. McLeod Ganj is around 50 minutes by road.
